How to commission a piece

How to contact us

If you wish to commission a custom piece, discuss a specific design, or explore the possibilities of creating something bespoke together, please send us a message on our Atelier Contact Form.

When submitting your form, please provide a general timeframe or date, your approximate budget, and any initial thoughts or wishes you have regarding the design.

If you do not have these specific details finalized yet, you are still more than welcome to reach out; sharing whatever details you currently have simply helps us streamline the beginning of our journey.

Defining the design

Once we receive your details and welcome you into our atelier schedule, we will begin defining the design together.

The possibilities are entirely open: we can develop a completely new design from scratch, recreate a piece you have fallen in love with in our atelier or on Instagram, or adapt an existing design using a different fabric and color, or alternative sleeve shapes and necklines.

Once the final design is determined, you will receive a contract for your order specifying the technical details, completion date, and your chosen payment terms. With everything agreed upon, the work on your piece officially begins.

The fitting & toile process

While we prefer to welcome you for in-person fittings at our atelier, we understand it can be difficult to visit us if you live far away or abroad. In these cases, managing the process remotely is a highly reliable and convenient alternative.

Once we have agreed on the design, you will receive a list of measurements needed and a detailed explanation of how to take them. Your individual measurements will be used to make a pattern specifically for you. Based on this, a toile (a mock-up garment made in sample fabric) will be made and sent to you by mail.

You will try it on so we can adapt it precisely to your body, and then you will return it to the atelier. Since we work with traditional Alta Costura techniques, and Alta Costura requires multiple fittings, it is very common to receive and return more than one toile until it fits flawlessly.

For these remote fittings, we prefer to conduct live video consultations to guide you through the process, and we highly recommend having a companion present who can assist in adjusting the toile. This way, it is much easier to achieve absolute precision and streamline the process.

Understanding the costs

Providing fixed price ranges in advance is nearly impossible, as the total cost for each piece varies significantly based on its unique requirements.

Creating a completely new pattern is more time-consuming than adapting an existing one to your measurements. Furthermore, dyeing fabrics in-house to achieve a specific color, or adding handcrafted embroidery, also requires more time and will affect the final price.

We always encourage you to share your ideas and wishes openly while keeping your comfort budget in mind, so we can explore the best possibilities together from the very start.

Having this framework is incredibly helpful, as we always strive to over-deliver and will work tirelessly at every stage to ensure you are more than happy with your final creation.

The payment structure

To reflect the natural pace involved in creating your piece, payments are divided into custom installments spread across the production period.

To officially begin the creation of your piece, an initial deposit is required to secure your place in our atelier schedule. The remaining balance is then structured into personalized installments arranged individually to suit your needs, keeping in mind that the balance must be paid in full before your completed order is shipped or collected from the atelier.
